Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory (R-TFI) Facilitator Job Description

R-TFI Facilitator Professional Learning Plan

The R-TFI Facilitator is the point person for each school using the Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory (R-TFI). They are responsible for scheduling and leading the administration of the R-TFI one to three times per school year. The R-TFI Facilitator plays a critical role with ensuring:

  • The accuracy of the R-TFI data
  • Schools understand the purpose of the R-TFI, including intended uses and misuses
  • Schools effectively use their R-TFI results to design improvements to their school-wide reading systems

Certification

To become a certified R-TFI Facilitator Tier 1, complete 4 online courses hosted by EduPaths. Navigate to www.edupaths.org, click "Log In" in the top right corner, select your district from the MiData Hub Login and authenticate with Google. If you are from outside of Michigan, you will need to set up an account. Email the support at EduPaths to be added manually by EduPaths.
Under Pathways, select MiMTSS for these titles:

  1. An Overview of the Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2.0
  2. Facilitating the Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2.0
  3. Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2.0 Tier 1: Elementary and Secondary

To become a certified R-TFI Facilitator Advanced Tiers, complete 3 online courses hosted by EduPaths. Navigate to www.edupaths.org, click "Log In" in the top right corner, select your district from the MiData Hub Login and authenticate with Google. If you are from outside of Michigan, you will need to set up an account. Email the support at EduPaths to be added manually by EduPaths.
Under Pathways, select MiMTSS for these titles:

  1. An Overview of the Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2.0
  2. Facilitating the Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2.0
  3. Reading Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2.0: Advanced Tiers

At the end of the final course, look for specific instructions to complete the final certification step: uploading the Course Completion Certificates for the required courses. There is a link on the last page of the final course for the certificates to be uploaded to confirm you have met all of the training requirements. Course Completion Certificates can be accessed by clicking on the My Transcript page on EduPaths.org.

Within two weeks of submitting your documents through the link provided in the last course, you will receive an email verifying that you have completed the requirements to become an R-TFI Facilitator. You will also have the role of R-TFI Facilitator added to your profile within the MiMTSS Data System, a system for Michigan schools, districts, and ISDs.

Prior to independently facilitating an R-TFI administration, people new to the role should also observe or co-facilitate an administration of the R-TFI.
