Save the Date and Call for Proposals- Deadline Extended!

The Michigan Multi-Tiered System of Supports Technical Assistance Center (MiMTSS TA Center), in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is excited to announce the dates of the 20th Annual MTSS Conference:

November 12 & 13, 2025

Lansing Center ~ Lansing, MI

 

We are seeking proposals for poster presentations for the 2025 annual MTSS conference.

We are especially interested in proposals that:

  • Showcase practical and replicable MTSS practices within the state of Michigan.

  • Demonstrate a strong focus on student growth and/or increased achievement.

  • Highlight innovative approaches to address the unique needs of Michigan students.

  • Make an overt connection to MTSS as a framework that includes academics and social, emotional, and behavioral supports. Review the  MTSS Overview Page as a point of reference for MTSS implementation in Michigan.

  • Build upon and connect to the definition of educational equity, β€œβ€¦is when educational policies, practices, interactions, and resources are representative of, constructed by, and responsive to all people so that each individual has access to, meaningfully participates in, and has positive outcomes from high-quality learning experiences, regardless of individual characteristics and group memberships.” (Fraser, 2008; Great Lakes Equity Center, 2012)

  • Incorporate audience participation and engagement strategies.

  • Target various audience levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) across the educational cascade. 

  • Include multiple staff identities and roles, including but not limited to classroom teachers, administrators, coaches, family partners, etc.

Presenter Benefits:

  • Opportunity to showcase expertise and best practices to a statewide audience.

  • Poster presenters will receive one free conference registration and a $75 stipend to offset the cost of printing a poster (reimbursed to your district or ISD)

Proposal Submission:

All proposals must be submitted electronically. Deadline for submitting proposals is September 30, 2025. Poster sessions will be reviewed and approved on a rolling basis (monthly) and primary contact will be notified of the submission status.

We encourage Michigan educators, administrators, researchers, and other MTSS implementers to submit proposals.

Overview

The annual conference focuses on advancing effective MTSS implementation to ensure the growth and success for all learners. The two-day conference is an opportunity to learn the latest in research and best practices related to MTSS, strengthen implementation within your context, and connect and share with other attendees.

Sessions strands include:

  • Early Childhood
  • Integrated MTSS
  • Family Partnerships
  • Leadership
  • Literacy
  • Math
  • Social, Emotional, Behavioral, Mental Health (SEB)

Sessions will be relevant for various experience levels, including participants who are new to MTSS and those who have advanced knowledge, as well as different audiences (i.e., coaches/facilitators, school-based leadership, ISD/district-based leadership, early childhood educators, elementary educators, and secondary educators). Opportunities for dialogue and sharing with other implementers are also provided.

  • Gain an understanding of the latest research, promising practices, and critical issues related to MTSS to connect with their existing practices.
  • Learn about developing systems to support effective implementation.
  • Expand learning of contextual implementation of practices.
  • Acquire new knowledge and skills applicable to their specific role/position.
