9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
EC PBIS Leadership Teams, Early Childhood Data Coordinators, Preschool Classroom Coaches
The analysis of Behavior Incident Report (BIR) data within early childhood settings can support the development of action plans to address challenging behavior by implementing supportive strategies across classrooms. This session will provide information about what Behavior Incident Reports are, how the data can be collected, and how it can be analyzed at the program, classroom, and individual child levels. EC PBIS Leadership Teams, Preschool Classroom Coaches, and Teachers can use this data to develop precision statements and create clear, specific action plans to efficiently respond to behavior. This leads to increased engagement for children in the classroom.
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Explain what behavior incident reports (BIR) are and how BIR data can be used in early childhood settings.
- Describe the process for collecting BIR data and the options for data entry (e.g., BIRS or EC-SWIS).
- Practice using BIR data to develop action plan items.
