The Michigan Multi-Tiered System of Supports Technical Assistance Center invites you to join the Explicit Instruction Facilitator Network.

This Network is designed for educational leaders across all grade levels. Participants in the Facilitator Network will deepen their understanding of explicit instruction and strengthen their facilitation skills to support professional learning within their own context. Additionally, Network Facilitators will have access to ongoing professional support through the MiMTSS TA Center, including further development opportunities and individual or small group check-ins for continued guidance. Attendance at all Network sessions is required for acceptance into the Network.

Literacy Coaches, Instructional Coaches, Administrators, Consultants, ISD Staff, MTSS Coordinators, MTSS Team Leaders, Reading Specialists, Educational Leaders

Overview

The Explicit Instruction Facilitator Network is a state-wide initiative focused on strengthening local support for the core components of Explicit Instruction through a network of trained facilitators. This initiative is designed to help participants deepen their understanding of Explicit Instruction and develop their ability to deliver effective professional learning experiences. Through this Facilitator Network, we hope to expand the use of high-impact, evidence-based instructional practices that will positively impact K-12 students in Michigan.

Administrator Orientation

The Explicit Instruction Administrator Orientation for the Facilitator Network allows administrators to explore the network’s goals and expectations. In this brief session, they’ll gain clarity on their role in advancing explicit instruction, discover key resources and support, and learn what to expect from network participants. This orientation will provide the insights needed to lead confidently and make a meaningful impact on student success.

Do your colleagues fully understand the power of Explicit Instruction? Join us for our first Network Gathering session, where facilitators will dive into the research and impact of Explicit Instruction. Network Gathering 2: Active Participation

Active participation is key to successfully implementing Explicit Instruction in classrooms, and increasing opportunities to respond can significantly boost student outcomes. In our second Network Gathering session, facilitators will explore effective active participation strategies and receive the materials and resources needed to lead professional learning on this important topic in their district. Don’t miss this chance to enhance engagement and impact student success!

A strong vocabulary is essential for successful reading comprehension, and students require direct vocabulary instruction to broaden their word knowledge. In our third Network Gathering session, facilitators will explore effective vocabulary instruction routines and receive materials and resources needed to facilitate professional learning on this important topic.
