Explicit Instruction Facilitator Network

Overview

The Explicit Instruction Facilitator Network is a state-wide initiative focused on strengthening local support for the core components of Explicit Instruction through a network of trained facilitators. This initiative is designed to help participants deepen their understanding of Explicit Instruction and develop their ability to deliver effective professional learning experiences. Through this Facilitator Network, we hope to expand the use of high-impact, evidence-based instructional practices that will positively impact K-12 students in Michigan.

Administrator Orientation

A strong vocabulary is essential for successful reading comprehension, and students require direct vocabulary instruction to broaden their word knowledge. In our final Network Gathering session, facilitators will explore effective vocabulary instruction routines and receive materials and resources needed to facilitate professional learning on this important topic.   • Participants must complete an application for acceptance into the Facilitator Network, including a letter of support from an administrator
  • Network eligibility requires attending all network sessions
  • Cost to join the Explicit Instruction Facilitator Network: $125 to cover training materials
  • Initial Trainers Academy is an in-person, 5-day training in Mt. Pleasant, MI
  • SCECHs will be available at no cost, pending approval of the application
  • Participation in the 5-day Trainer’s Academy is a required component of the Facilitator Network as it offers essential training to deepen your understanding of Explicit Instruction and strengthen your skills to deliver impactful professional learning. If you have attended this training before, we ask that you attend again. This ensures that all participants are aligned with the strategies and practices adopted by the Facilitator Network, fostering consistency throughout the network. The training is designed to reinforce key concepts, introduce new insights, and enhance your ability to effectively support and train others.
