This series develops local and regional training capacity to support training early childhood staff in the installation of Preschool Pyramid Practices and Practice-Based Coaching. Through activities designed to build background knowledge and respond to common questions, these sessions prepare participants to lead staff and coaches through a professional learning series that includes all levels of the Pyramid Model. This includes the intentional teaching of social-emotional competencies, embedded instruction, and individualized support planning, as well as the necessary coaching support to bring these practices to fidelity in the classroom. Implementation of Pyramid Practices with fidelity leads to improved outcomes for children, families, providers, and programs.

By the end of these sessions, participants will:

  1. Describe all levels of the Pyramid Model to a novice learner.
  2. Explain the importance of classroom coaching and a practice-based coaching cycle.
  3. Identify common participant questions and misrules that arise.
  4. Prepare to train early childhood staff in the installation and use of Preschool Pyramid Practices and Practice-Based Coaching.
