An Event For:

ISD ancillary staff, consultants, and leaders supporting SEB MTSS efforts

ISD ancillary staff, consultants and other SEB leaders often get requests to support classroom behavior needs. While these behaviors may seem unpredictable, behavior science has demonstrated how behavior often occurs within a predictable cycle. Understanding this cycle and appropriate responses to student behavior throughout the cycle can assist ISD staff in supporting teachers and other educators in effectively responding to behavior in ways that can prevent behaviors from occurring as well as de-escalate behavior when it does take place. The focus of this session is on equipping ISD staff to understand and support school staff in effectively respond to this cycle of behavior.

By the end of this session, participants will:

  1. Know the phases of the acting-out cycle and understand behaviors as occurring within the cycle
  2. Articulate the roles staff plan in effectively supporting student behavior across the cycle
  3. Understand how to support teachers and leaders in responding to students in different phases of the cycle
