REWARDS Plus Social Studies is an intervention programs designed for students in middle and high school (grades 6-12). REWARDS Plus Social Studies increases multisyllabic word reading skills in more complex informational text, expands vocabulary knowledge and application, and develops students’ close reading and critical thinking skills. This program serves as a culmination of learned skills that generalize to the late-middle and high school educational demands through application of REWARDS word-attack strategies to social studies texts. This session prepares individuals to support the effective use of REWARDS Plus Social Studies.
Note: Participants are responsible for acquiring and purchasing their own books from the publisher. Participants in the exploratory stages of REWARDS Plus Social Studies can still engage in the training without the books in front of them, but will only have access to training materials supplied within the session.
